Dr. P VLN Murthy

Professor of Urology and Renal Transplantation with over 35 years of experience. Performed/ associated with over 1000 kidney transplants. Mentored more than 50 Post Graduate students over a period of 25 years. Started diseased donor renal transplantation in combined state of Andhra Pradesh and responsible for launching "Jeevandaan" - a state sponsored diseased organ transplantation program. Presented over 200 scientific papers and lectures in Urology and Transplantation. Published about 52 articles in various National and International medical journals. Performed the first successful cadaver kidney transplantation in the state of combined Andhra Pradesh (29th May, 2002) at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. Started Renal transplant program at various centers in India and abroad. Examiner and Faculty selection member at various centers including AIIMS New Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, SGPGI Lucknow. Nominated and received the prestigious Dr. BC Roy award by the Medical Council of India and received gold medal from the then President of India Shri. Pranab Mukherjee in 2017.
