Dr Karthik is an internationally recognized American Board of Surgery certified vascular surgeon who specializes in vascular disease; including complex thoracic and aortic aneurysms , and limb salvage. Dr. Mikkineni's research topics include abdominal aortic aneurysm and vascular conduits for bypass. He has published and authored book chapters on the surgical management of aortic aneurysms. His passion in care of vascular diseases led him to direct care and establishment of vascular services in India at AIG Hospitals, Mayo clinic care network Hospitals as part of Global Surgery in 2019. He graduated as the Chief Resident of the Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency Program from Temple and Drexel University, Pittsburgh and has completed his internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center and his medical degree from Guntur Medical College. He has remarkable academic and clinical productivity involving new and dramatically improved techniques for diagnosing and treating vascular disease with grants from NIH and AHA. He serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Vascular Ultrasound. He held key leadership positions at Stanford University School of Medicine as the ranking member of the MD and fellowship admissions committees.
