Presently he is the director of Shreya eye care center at Hyderabad. He is a specialist in pediatric strabismus ,adult strabismus , and neuro-ophthalmology. In addition to his fellowship training, he also visited various hospitals in the USA .He is a present and past member of several prestigious international organizations including American academy of ophthalmology (AAO), American association of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus (AAPOS), international strabismology association( ISA), Andhra Pradesh state ophthalmic society and,Delhi ophthalmological society ,all India ophthalmological society(AIOS), Delhi ophthalmology society(dos) and strabismology society of India(SSI). He has lectured in various universities here in India and in the USA covering several topics of strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataract and neuro-ophthalmology.He has published articles in peer-reviewed international journals and presented at various international meetings such as American academy of ophthalmology, the American association for pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, European strabismology association, Indonesian ophthalmology association, and at various national meetings of all India ophthalmology society, strabismology society, Delhi ophthalmology society and Hyderabad ophthalmology association. With all his clinical and academic experience, Dr. B.Venkateshwar Rao has ventured into his next stage by starting Shreya eye care center in march 2006 with a mission of providing cost effective treatment in the field of strabismus ,pediatric eye problems and neuro- ophthalmology.Presently he is the director of Shreya eye care center, Hyderabad.

We are from Newtown, Kolkata. We were referred to Dr. B Venkateshwar Rao, Shreya Eye Care Centre, Hyderabad for my daughter for suspecting squint recently by Doctors at Kolkata and Burdwan.
Our daughter, 6 years old, on our visit at his center, was then diagnosed with Intermittent Exotropia (Squint Eyes) with poor control on 12th Sept 2025. Under the care of Dr. Rao, she underwent successful surgery on both eyes on 17th Sept 2025 at Hyderabad.
From the very beginning, we felt reassured and relaxed by Dr. Rao’s confidence, clear guidance, and assurance of cure. The entire journey — consultations, pre-operative checkups, the surgery itself, and post-operative care — was handled in a disciplined, systematic, and highly professional manner.
What touched us most was the caring and supportive approach of Dr. B Venkateshwar Rao and his team. They created such a friendly and homely atmosphere that our daughter never once felt fear. In fact, she remained cheerful and enthusiastic throughout, hardly realizing that she will or had undergone surgery.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Rao and the entire Shreya Eye Care Centre and The Hospital team for their wonderful treatment, compassion, and dedication. It was truly a remarkable and reassuring experience for us as parents.
