Dr. B. Venkateshwar Rao

Dr. B Venkateshwar Rao Specialist in pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus & neuro-ophthalmology.Dr.B. Venkateshwar Rao had done his ophthalmology residency training at R.P. Center, all India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi. He had done his fellowship in strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology under prof Prem Prakash from R.P. Center,AIIMS New Delhi. He was selected as senior research associate for CSIR for one year.He also completed the prestigious AAPOS fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology & strabismus under the tutelage of world-renowned prof Eugene Helveston from Indiana university Medical Center Indianapolis,USA.He headed the dept of pediatric ophthalmology ,strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology at lv prasad eye institute from jan1998 to Feb 2006. Presently he is the director of Shreya eye care center at Hyderabad. He is a specialist in pediatric strabismus ,adult strabismus , and neuro-ophthalmology. In addition to his fellowship training, he also visited various hospitals in the USA .He is a present and past member of several prestigious international organizations including American academy of ophthalmology (AAO), American association of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus (AAPOS), international strabismology association( ISA), Andhra Pradesh state ophthalmic society and,Delhi ophthalmological society ,all India ophthalmological society(AIOS), Delhi ophthalmology society(dos) and strabismology society of India(SSI). He has lectured in various universities here in India and in the USA covering several topics of strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataract and neuro-ophthalmology.He has published articles in peer-reviewed international journals and presented at various international meetings such as American academy of ophthalmology, the American association for pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, European strabismology association, Indonesian ophthalmology association, and at various national meetings of all India ophthalmology society, strabismology society, Delhi ophthalmology society and Hyderabad ophthalmology association. With all his clinical and academic experience, Dr. B.Venkateshwar Rao has ventured into his next stage by starting Shreya eye care center in march 2006 with a mission of providing cost effective treatment in the field of strabismus ,pediatric eye problems and neuro- ophthalmology.Presently he is the director of Shreya eye care center, Hyderabad.
