Hoped for better: Treatment satisfaction
Hello everyone,*** ******** ******** underwent surgery at Bakshi Hospital on 30th November for a humerus bone fracture. Dr. Bakshi was recommended to us by members of our community as well as friends, which gave us confidence in proceeding with him.
The surgery was performed, but after one month, the X-ray showed no proper union of the bone. I was advised to continue with a calcium nasal spray along with routine physiotherapy, with the assurance that the bone would unite over time. Trusting this advice, I continued the prescribed treatment.
However, after three months, in April, I returned for a follow-up due to persistent shoulder pain and inability to lift my arm. A fresh X-ray revealed that instead of improving, the gap between the bone fragments had actually increased. This came as a complete shock.
A couple of days later, I was called in for further evaluation using a C-arm in the OT, where it was observed that the bone fragments were moving, possibly due to loosening of the rod and screws. I was then advised to undergo another surgery, where the plan was to push the bones together and add additional screws.
Not being convinced, I sought a second opinion. The doctor clearly stated that the existing implant would need to be removed and the procedure redone entirely. I then took a third opinion, which confirmed the same approach. Both doctors also mentioned that, in their view, a plate fixation would have been more appropriate than a rod and screws for this type of fracture.
Unfortunately, I had no choice but to undergo revision surgery, as I could not continue with restricted movement and ongoing pain. **** *** ******** ** ********** ********* ********** *** ********* *******

Through this experience, I would strongly urge everyone to seek multiple medical opinions before proceeding with such surgeries. *********** * **** **** ********** *** ***** *** ** **** * **** **** ******* ** ***** ** ***** ******* *** ************ ********** * ** **** ********* ****** ** *** ****** *** *** ******* **** *** ******I would not recommend proceeding ******* ******** ********** *** *******************
