A Race Against Time and Rain: The Dramatic Birth of Our Son
In what felt like a scene straight out of the iconic film, a relentless downpour turned the streets of Gurgaon into a perilous obstacle course, with our doctor, Dr. Anu Sidana, stranded in the chaos. This is the extraordinary story of the birth of our son on August 11, 2024, a day when the heavens unleashed their fury, and a doctor’s unwavering dedication turned what could have been a tragedy into a miracle.
My wife was admitted to Cloud Nine Hospital in Sector 47, Gurgaon, on August 10, 2024, as we eagerly awaited the arrival of our child. The next morning, the skies opened up, and Gurgaon’s notorious waterlogging began. Streets transformed into rivers, and visibility was reduced to almost nothing. By 11 a.m., the assistant doctor had moved my wife into the labor room, preparing her for delivery as the rain showed no sign of letting up.
Just then, my phone rang. It was Dr. Anu Sidana, our trusted doctor, calling to inform me that her car was stuck in the flooding, and she couldn’t reach the hospital. The hospital had dispatched an ambulance to pick her up, but with the city drowning in water, there was no guarantee she would arrive in time. As my wife’s labor pains intensified, the assistant doctor did everything possible to comfort her, while the rain continued its relentless assault.
Minutes later, another call came in—this time a video call. The doctor showed me the inside of the ambulance, where water was already seeping in. The ambulance had stalled in the middle of a flooded road. Panic surged through me, but I knew the hospital staff was prepared for any emergency. Still, our faith in Dr. Anu’s expertise was unwavering.
As the situation grew dire, the assistant doctor informed me that my wife might need to undergo an emergency C-section. The baby’s heart rate was dropping, and there was a risk that amniotic fluid could enter his lungs—a situation that could prove fatal. Desperation took hold of me as I prayed for the rain to stop, just for a few minutes, so that Dr. Anu could reach us in time.
In a frantic bid to find help, I reached out to my friends. They promised to pick up Dr. Anu, but the question remained—how? The waterlogged streets had already stopped an ambulance in its tracks. Still, they set out, determined to find a way to bring her to the hospital.
Just as I was about to lose hope, I received a call from Dr. Anu that shook me to my core. “Sir, I’m boarding a tractor,” she said, her voice unwavering despite the chaos. “The water is waist-deep, and there’s no other way. If your friends can meet me at Goodearth Mall, the tractor will drop me there.” I was speechless. This wasn’t just dedication; this was heroism.
My friends managed to find an autorickshaw, but even that was a Herculean task. The autorickshaw battled through the flooded streets, swaying dangerously as heavy vehicles passed by, sending waves of water crashing against it. But against all odds, they reached Dr. Anu and brought her to the hospital.
When she arrived, drenched but undeterred, she wasted no time. She quickly disinfected herself, donned her apron, mask, and head cap, and entered the labor room. Her presence was a beacon of hope—not just because of her medical expertise, but because of the extraordinary effort she had made to be there. She could have easily left the delivery in the hands of the assistant doctor, citing the flooded streets and stalled ambulance as valid reasons. But she didn’t.
Minutes later, with the help of a vacuum, Dr. Anu safely delivered our baby boy. The sound of our son’s first cry was the sweetest relief, bringing tears of joy to my eyes. It was a moment of pure elation, made all the more poignant by the heroism that had preceded it.
I salute Dr. Anu Sidana for her incredible dedication, for braving the elements to ensure the safe arrival of our child. In that moment, she was nothing short of divine—a true embodiment of the godly care we all hope for in a doctor. With folded hands, I say to her, “Ma’am, tussi great ho.”
This is more than just the story of our son’s birth; it’s a testament to the lengths to which true professionals will go to fulfill their duty. And for that, we are forever grateful.

I and my wife had a great pregnancy journey. It was more of a roller coaster ride with a number of bumps, twists and turns. We have had days on which we could totally relax and also we had days where we would just get so exhausted with tests, doctor's visits, keeping track of medications and what not! But through all this, we had the pillar like support of Dr. Anu Sidana who held her nerves and tried her best in keeping our anxieties in control with her fine advices, extreme care, preparedness, and spot on decisions during the entire pregnancy period. Our pregnancy turned to be a high risk one and we thank God that we chose Dr. Anu to be our doctor. Our baby decided to say "hello world" before he was supposed to and it was Dr. Anu and her extreme vigilance that the baby didn't have to face any challenges even in the event of nearly a month's premature delivery. Though at some points during the pregnancy we had questions like - why this support medicine? Why this test? What if this has negative impact on my wife's health or the baby inside her?, but the answers we got to all our queries were just so acceptable in every sense. With the healthy baby comfortably sleeping in our arms, we thank Dr. Anu once again for her motherly guidance and care.

We recently consulted Dr. Anu for almost a month for an early pregnancy ***** ******** **** ************ but our experience was not quite good.
There were couple of incident which made us thought to quit consulting and start taking advise from someone else -
1. Her consulting area is always open and just beside the common waiting area. Everyone can hear all the conversation which is going on & that too on female internal health, which makes things too uncomfortable.
2. During the whole consultation, she always used to be on her Tab noting/prescribing/what not - all the time. No space for open two way communication.
3. We can still consider it our destiny that our pregnancy resulted into miscarriage, but for the abortion process as well she charged us 2500 on top of her visiting charge by saying - "The abortion capsule are free of cost, but I am charging you for the consultation I am providing on how to take this pills". Later she handed over prescription to her staff/nurse *** *** ** **** ** *** ********* ** *** ** **** ***** *** **** ******** ******* ********** ********* She(Nurse) asked my wife to take those pills with water like any other medicine****** ******* ****** *** ** *** ****** even it was quite impossible to read name and most importantly the expiration date of those pills from it's wrapper as each tablets were torn individually out of which she handed over random 6 pills.
** * ****** ** *** *** **** *** ** ***** ** ***** **** ******** ******** ******* **** ***** ********Overall, we really felt they are not much concerned about the situation through which pregnant lady and her family might be going through during this tough time.
Will not at all recommend to anyone.

It’s been two years since I first visited dr. Anu. From that day to till now she has been a great doctor. M glad that i choose her. Under her supervision my PCOD was cured and i was able to conceive naturally. Since the day i got pregnant she took care of me not as a doctor but just like a family member. Apart from being a great doctor she is a great human being. I had lots of ups and down during my pregnancy but she was there for me to make sure that the baby will deliver healthy. Even whenever i had emotional breakdown she was there to cheer me up and to motivate me during my pregnancy. She is full of positivity. And finally after her endless effort to make my pregnancy smooth now m momy of a healthy baby. Thnx doctor for being so supportive.. if you are looking for gynaecologist than no one can be better than Dr. Anu.
