Wisdom tooth
Its been a week after my tooth extraction (lower left wisdom tooth). Due to my swelling and vomitings i couldn't eat any thing on my 3 rd and 4 th day post surgery. So i continued with soft food. Now my jaw has become stiff I can't open it fully. Only 1 and half fingers are going into mouth. Doctor suggested to chew gum and resistant exercise but during exercise i am feeling pain in my jaw and left tonsil area in throat. What should i do now to relieve it? Also i have 2 stitches i have to remove it in couple of days as its already been a week. Kindly suggest what to do? What are the consequences i need to face if my stitches are removed late?

Apart from medication and having your stitches removed, slowly open and exercise your jaw by placing your fist under the chin - opening against resistance, this will relax your stiff jaw muscles and then you can start with eating regular food/ chew gum which will completely resolve your problem. It's temporary, do not worry

Hi, Visit the dentist and get the sutures removed. As of the restriction in opening of mouth, continue with the exercise that was given to you. It will take sometime but slowly you will be able to open your mouth normally.
