Wisdom tooth growth
I recently noticed that wisdom tooth in the upper jaw has grown, do they cause protrusion of teeth? The teeth on my upper jaw look protruded by a few mm. How ever I do not have any pain (yet) but it seems like they are not growing in line with my teeth, a part of the wisdom tooth is touching my inner cheek. Pls suggest the best possible solution for this before it gets worse.

hello, wisdom tooth eruption and protrusion of teeth are not co-related. it is always better to get the wisdom tooth removed. you need to consult a dentist for protrusion of teeth. he will give you a proper diagnosis whether it is due to gum problem or due to traumatic bite. accordingly you will have to consult a periodontist or orthodontist.

Your tooth has erupted buccally. Better go for extracting of the tooth to avoid further complications.

We would advice to get the Wisdom teeth to be extracted as it is not helpful in chewing and to avoid chances of food lodgement and infection in adjoining teeths. And Yes, it might be the reason for protrusion of your teeth. PLease visit your dentist for through analysis and prognosis.

Regarding your first issue all the wisdom tooth does not cause protrusion, only in certain cases if it is in angulation it might cause, regarding the second issue I think the best solution for it is to get it removed because of two reasons 1.since it's in a particular angulation it will be not at all useful for you in chewing 2.there is a greater chance of food lodgement happening between the wisdom teeth and the next teeth and which further might lead to decay and pain
Next Steps
extraction of the teeth

Hi,If there is frequent ulceration of cheek because of wisdom tooth then only get the tooth removed or keep the area clean by brushing properly & warm water with salt gargles & do yearly dental check ups.

Hello Mam Firstly as earlier doctors said its not necessary that the wisdom tooth will cause protrusion. So don't take stress about it. The treatment which is required for this is.. Correctly the treatment can be suggested only by seeing the tooth condition and position . But as per your description Right now wait and watch. And later if it is irritating ur cheeks a lot then have to get it extracted as there is no use of the wisdom teeth in eating etc. So there is no harm which will happen if we remove it. So for you it's better u show it to someone and decide it as per your condition.
