If your dentist has recommended the removal of your upper and lower right wisdom teeth due to complications, it's important to consider seeking a second opinion from another dental professional or an oral surgeon. They can evaluate your specific situation, review your X-rays, and provide further guidance on the best course of treatment. Having wisdom teeth located near the nerve can increase the complexity of the extraction procedure and the potential risk of nerve damage. However, it's important to note that not all cases result in nerve damage, and the decision to remove the teeth should be made based on a thorough evaluation of your individual circumstances. Consulting with an oral surgeon who specializes in wisdom tooth extraction can provide you with expert advice and help you make an informed decision. They will be able to assess the risks and benefits of the procedure and discuss any potential complications, including the possibility of temporary or permanent numbness. To find an oral surgeon, you can ask for referrals from your current dentist, seek recommendations from friends or family, or use online resources to search for experienced professionals in your area. When scheduling an appointment with the oral surgeon, be sure to bring your X-rays and any other relevant dental records for their review. Remember, seeking a second opinion is a common practice in healthcare, especially for complex procedures. It can help you gain more information, clarify any concerns, and make the best decision for your dental health.
