Wisdom Teeth Extraction Pain
I got all four of my wisdom teeth taken out on April 13, 2018. It is now April 17th, and I have noticed that my swelling has only gone down a little and my pain levels are still pretty moderate. When I look at my sutures on the bottom row, I notice a lot of gunk around my stitches. My surgeon didn’t give me many instructions. All he said was not to rinse my mouth and not to drink through a straw. I have only eaten apple sauce, soup broth, and popsicles. Is there any answer to help me calm down?

Hi Moderate discomfort and pain will be there for a few more days. Healing will take place gradually. You don’t need to worry on that part. Restrictions on rinsing and using straw is only for a day. You can have soft food for a few more days.Gradually resume to your normal diet. Please visit your dentist for a follow -up checkup and get it checked . Take medicines as prescribed by your dentist. If the medicine course is over you can further take a pain killer if pain is still there. HOPE THAT HELPS Dr.Nisha.Harwani.

Please do warm salt water rinses 3 to 4 times daily. Resume normal diet but avoid smoking, and anything extremely hard or sharp in the diet for a few days. I hope this allays your anxiety.
