Which bp medicine should I take for high bp and angina pain. I consulted two doctors and one suggested metoprolol and other suggested Amlodipine. Which should I take for proper relief and minimal side effects? Please advise ASAP.

Blood pressure and angina are two different entity. You need to take different medication for each. Its true that all antianginal decrease blood pressure but mechanism of action and duration of action is different.

Hello, Depends on your BP readings. If BP readings are not very high and angina is more you need Metaprolol. If BP is high with angina you would probably need both the drugs.

Metoprolol has better angina relief. But has less effect on bp as such Try measuring bp after few days and update
