When will my TMJ Problem will recover?
Hello Doctor, I am Uma Dubey. 20 days ago I have done some jaw related exercise for reducing my facial fat. I was doing this exercise by bringing the lower jaw forward and backward. I have not faced any pain during that time but after 4 to 5 days, I started feeling pain in my jaw which radiated to face, head and neck. I then consulted with dentist, dentist suggested Tab myotop dsr half tablet for 2-3 days. My pain was reduced But, I am experiencing the pain when I talk, laugh, etc. So, I am preventing to talk, laugh. But, I want to ask you for how much days will I have to experience this pain and also suggest some preventions and medications if any for this.

Your jaw muscle have strained due tot hat exercises. This will affect the entire TMJ joint region. In a week's time the pain will taper down. But kindly apply Hot fermentation pack out side followed with Ice pack... For 10 min each (hot + cold) ... On both the sides of face near the TMJ region.. 4-5 times a day. Take the painkiller for the first 3 days...after which take only when there is continuous pain. Avoid hard and chewy diet. Restrict to soft diet only. Intemittently do gradual mouth opening excercises.

Don't worry, you started facial exercises that's why you may have pain. It will reduce within few days. But if it doesn't reduce then consult doctor online or offline for better guidance and treatment options. Apply ice pack outside your mouth over effected area.
