When should I re-test?
I had a risky HIV exposure on 19 May. I had symptoms like cold, cough, fever, sore throat and rash from 13 June. I did a antigen/antibody test on 19 June, and it was negative. How soon should I go for a retest?

If someone receives a negative result on an antigen-antibody test but suspects recent exposure to HIV (within the last 45 days), it is generally recommended to repeat the test after this period to ensure accuracy. This waiting period allows the body enough time to produce detectable levels of HIV antibodies and antigens if the person has been infected. However, if the initial test was performed outside of this window period (more than 45 days post-exposure) and the result is negative, repeating the test is not typically necessary unless there are new risks or concerns about subsequent exposures.
