Don't go for self medication. If you need complete information try to learn the basic concepts of ayurveda. Or consult a doctor properly before taking any food substance or medicine especially for a longer duration In order to reduce your weight or any kind of health issues. Apple cider vinegar is hot or acidic in nature. Its nature will be assessed based on its action and its property. Example: any acidic nature drug will increase the burning sensation internally or externally, you may feel watery stools initially but later it causes the dryness or hard stools, may reduce your sleep, may cause decrease in weight etc.

It is basically an acid, hence it must have the qualities of Agni. Any doubt  came online. From the qualities we can assume it's properties. Rasa Guna veerya vipaka prabhava are the tools to find out properties of a drug as per Ayurveda, but is not practical in case of a new drug. Modern methods has to be adopted.ACV being acid it is  hot.

Thanks for trusting Ayurveda and seeking help on authentic platform. Everything is medicines and it's Ras virya vipak are terminology used in Ayurvedic text to share it's properties/response on human/animal. May differ in degree with respect to season n body constitution when taken  internally or applied externally

Apple cider vinegar or any vinegar is amla vipaki in nature increases pitta in body hence will be ushna! It should be less consumed by patient of pitta prakriti! You cant find something is hot or cold in nature on your own because it differs with the body constitution of body! For example we think that buttermilk is cool in nature hence we consume it in summers...but actually buttermilk is hot in nature... It doesnt work according to its veerya( hotness or coldness) but work due to its nature of improving digestion and madhur vipaka! If some edible item feels hot in your body after eating that has two meaning- Either that particular item is actually hot in nature Or your prakriti is not able to handle it or digest it hence feeling hot! Let me give you another example - TAKING curd at night is completely prohibited in ayurveda!!! But if its take once a while by a pitta prakriti patient it will not harm him as his digestive fire will be strong and digest it all!! However a kaph prakriti pt. Will be developing cough and cold immediately after having it since curd increases. Kaph in body and his digestive fire will be weak!
