Hi my baby is only 20 days old. She has only been passing loose stools for 5 to 6 times in a day, since the day she is born. Is it common for such small babies to pass loose stools or should I show it to some doctor for proper treatment?

Dear parents,
Passing 5to6times stool in initial months is normal, stool is loose, half watery &half solid small whitish granules like jeera.
Baby can pass 10to12stool in a day or once in 3to4days ,both are normal.
If your baby is on exclusive breastfeed, no treatment required. Look for weight gain. If your baby has gained 100-200 GMs since birth then it’s normal. On breastfeeding babies do pass 5-10 stools per day.
