What is Drinking limit while conceiving
Can I have 4 cans (2L in total) kf ultra (mild) beer ( each can has about 5% of alcohol content) on weekly basis if we are trying to conceive? What limit is permitted? How early should you quit alcohol (for males) before planning pregnancy.

I would recommend completely abstaining from alcohol during this period. And you need to quit at least 3 months in advance from whenever you are planning to conceive. Why the three month rule? Sometimes early pregnancy is not detected with urine test in first trimester which is the most crucial period for organogenesis of the baby. So you need to completely cut off all kinds of alcohol. Plus it will also boost the morale of your partner if you are showing her support:) Thanks Regards Dr Shweta J Ram
