Weak spot in left eye
I recently got my eyes checked for my power short sight. It was supposed to be a regular health check up. But I was told that I have a weak spot in my left eye. And if I experience flash like lighting within my eyes. I should consult with the doctor and do an operation to fix this. Can this is rectified before or what if I already experience something like this and was not aware of it. Is there are none surgical remedy for this condition

Most likely there is peripheral retinal degeneration, if there is any hole or tear , laser is required. PL show to retina expert .

Hi, You have probably been diagnosed with myopia which is associated with lattices (the weak spots of retina). However,as there have been no symptoms the ophthalmologist has asked you to be vigilant and report SOS in case you notice a flash or floater which is usually indicative of retinal detachment... A condition which if occurs need to be treated to avoid loss of sight.
Next Steps
dilated retinal evaluation....if you had that done and the retina specialist suggested no active treatment except being vigilant...then just relax and carry on normally
Health Tips
meet a retinal specialist at the earliest, if you notice any flashes or floaters.
