Cylindrical power -1.00 in both eyes
My daughter just completed 6 years. In regular eye checkup, she got cylindrical power -1.00 in both eyes. Is this normal power in this age? Do we need to wear powered glasses all the time or we can ignore the glasses?

You absolutely can’t ignore the glasses She must wear it constantly Also don’t let her rub her eyes Also get a pentacam done at the earliest Yes the number is significantly high Keep in touch with your ophthalmologist

You need to get her vision tested by- Retinoscopy under Homide and if she has spectacle correction after this test- she would have to wear the glasses daily and get routine eye test done every 6month -1yr to check progression of refractive error

As children are not able to express their issue, it’s better to use the glasses to get a crisp vision and continue regular check up with ophthalmologist to monitor the power change.

Normally there will be no power , if the vision is normal. Pl ask your daughters to use the glasses continuously. Pl constant.
