My 8 months old baby has slight cold. We are using garlic infused mustard oil , cooled down after heating...and then massaging baby with it.
Is there any rule that only raw mustard oil should be applied on head, and not garlic infused oil which has been cooled after heating ?

Traditionally garlic is heated in mustard oil and cooled oil is used for massage on feet. You can add ajwain and methi too in the oil while heating. Massage the feet with the infusion and put socks on! Grandma’s recipe!

There is no strict rule that only raw mustard oil must be used. Garlic-infused mustard oil, if properly heated and cooled, is safe to use for massage—even on the head. Just make sure the oil is not too hot and always do a patch test to avoid skin irritation. Many families use this traditionally for mild colds without issues.
