Doctor,
My brother recently had a proximal left leg fracture. So i am sending x ray reports of his leg. Just wanted to know if a operation is required or not. Because 1 doctor suggested surgery , so we wanted to know if anything serious?
Please help.

He is a child ...salter Harris type 2 kind of a fracture.
Can be managed with a plaster. Do not worry he will do well with conservative measures.

Yes it's serious injury as the fracture is involving the joint, as per my opinion it's better to get operated.
