Want second opinion from bone specialist
Hello , my brother who is 21 years old was having slight hip pain in pelvic area which usually happens . We went to the doctor he said to do xray, and the results showed a minor crack in that region also he said to do MRI as why there's a crack without any injury. After doing MRI we again went, and the results showed multifocal fractures around pelvic and spine region. Then he suggested dexa scan and in that bone density t score was -3.2, -2.8 in some areas... The doctor said his bones are very weak according to his age and he has underlying osteoporosis. So he gave him denosaub injection and zotide injection which is to be taken daily. Along with 5-6 other tablets and supplements. We are really worried and wanted to consult a specialist in this field who can guide us better.

Hi, this is Dr Varun Kumar, orthopedician. Considering your history, at this age group, reduced bone density and multiple fractures in hip and knee and reduced t score indicates some underlying pathology which is causing weakening of bones.
Next Steps
Need to further evaluate hormonal status to check if they are abnormal which might cause early weakening of bones and need to treat that underlying pathology appropriately so that this problem won't be repeated again
Health Tips
Chances of fracture even with minor fall can happen, need to be more careful

It’s quite unusual and alarming to see multiple fragility fractures and such low bone density (T-score: –3.2) in a 21-year-old male. fragility fractures does require multifaceted approach and these medications are given in such cases. However there is a further need to evaluate the root cause of the issue.
