There must be a serious problem. An arthritis patient (on treatment) developing severe anaemia is always a serious problem. Please consult your treating Doctor (and if need be, also consult a Haematologist.

Help manage arthritis-related indigestion with a home diet rich in anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids from fatty fish, ginger, and turmeric, as well as easily digestible foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast, while avoiding trigger foods like citrus fruits, tomatoes, and spicy or fatty foods.

I’m sorry to hear about your mother’s health challenges. Given her arthritis and the symptoms of indigestion and low hemoglobin, there are a few things to consider: Arthritis and Anemia: It’s common for arthritis patients, especially those with rheumatoid arthritis, to develop anemia. This can be due to chronic inflammation or the side effects of medications like NSAIDs, which can cause gastrointestinal bleeding12. Indigestion: Chronic indigestion could be related to her arthritis medications or other underlying conditions. It’s important to review her current medications with her doctor to see if any adjustments are needed. Dietary Adjustments: To help with both indigestion and low hemoglobin, consider incorporating the following into her diet: Iron-rich foods: Red meat, poultry, fish, beans, lentils, tofu, and leafy green vegetables like spinach and kale34. Vitamin C: Foods like oranges, strawberries, bell peppers, and broccoli can help enhance iron absorption3. Folate: Include foods like beans, lentils, leafy greens, and fortified cereals4.
