Hello A psychiatrist is a doctor who after finishing MBBS for five and a half years specialises in treating, diagnosing and overcoming mental health conditions by studying for another 3 years or more. They are usually MD,DNB or DPM. They help you overcome the problem with medication and therapy or only therapy too. Each case being different has different requirements. A psychologist is a person who usually has masters or phd in psychology and can help you too. They engage in counselling. An ideal scenario would be to be screened by former and then come to conclusion as is done in the West. Also, it would be best to approach someone who has a team of psychiatrist and psychologist.
Next Steps
Start somewhere. Approach any mental health professional.
