Hello doc's ... My baby is. 2 and half months old...She was scheduled to have vaccination on 29 nov 2022... But she caught chest infection jus a day before vaccination...and is on antibiotics... She is taking zifi 25 mg...kofarest pd n calpol... My paedritician said not to go fr vaccination yet... Unless antibiotics are stopped... She is already 4 days late for vaccination... I am really worried Abt her vaccination... 1.   is it ok to delay vaccine... If yes for.how many days or weeks cn we delay it... 2. And after how many days of taking antibiotics cn she go fr vaccination... 3. Can she go fr vaccination the very next day after stopping antibiotics.. Plz ans all my questions...

1. Yes, you can deliver actions up to 2 weeks. 2. There is no relation are such with antibiotics, but the child should not be having any infection or fever.
Next Steps
Wait for that child to get absolutely alright so that when the vaccine is given, it gives appropriate immunity

1. There is no problem if vaccination gets delayed for one to two weeks 2. More than antibiotics administration , the reason for delaying vaccination is the infection in the body for which antibiotic is being given . Generally presence of fever is a contraindication to giving vaccination as also any severe infection in the body causing child to be very sick 3. So if child has recovered and is well and without fever , you can get him vaccinated

Delayed vaccination is because of the infection proper which is controlled after 7 days. Nothing wrong in 1 to 2 weeks of delay. Please go for vaccination only if there is no fever after antibiotic course.
