UTI For 15 month Old baby
My baby has uti last week. urine analysis  test shows plenty of pus cells present  in urine. We have taken scan as per doc advice. Scan report came normal. Our pediatrician refers antibiotic Mahacef For 15 Days. But pharmacy person told antibiotic commonly not advised For more than 10 Days. Whether can we give antibiotic for 15 Days to baby.

Normally treatment for uti is 14 days antibiotic course . No problem u can give .

For uncomplicated first UTI, antibiotics should be given for 7- 10 days only..

For uncomplicated UTI the duration of treatment is 7-10 days. More than that is not required
