Uterine polyp and Periods problem
My wife had been diagnosed with a uterine polyp and we have consulted a doctor. She was having irregular periods last month and continuous bleeding for almost 2 weeks, though this month she again had her periods on time. Doctor initially asked her to go for Pap smear and pap reports came out clear. However, the doctor gave couple of medicines like Evion and another inter-vaginal medicine, she asked to go for polypectomy after a month. Today when she visited the doctor again, the doctor is suggesting to go for Hysterectomy. We are clueless as to why the doctor is asking her to go for hysterectomy when it is only a polyp. As for regular medication, she takes Telma 40 for BP and Thyronorm. Her TSH and FSH are right now normal. Is hysterectomy really needed for her? Kindly advise.

Its better if you share your USG reports as well. The size of the polyp is an important determinant of treatment modality to be followed
