Use of Progesterone SR200
She is 7-8 week pregnant, her Sonography scan at week 6 was normal. As per doctor's word everything is normal, still she has prescribed progesterone SR 200 medicine (1 daily) till 1st trimester. Is this normal to take the medicine as: In our family and social circle we have not heard people taking any medicine except Folic acid during first trimester and due to this my wife urine is always yellow in colour. Also on internet we read that this medicine is given in some abnormal conditions only. is there any -ve impact on the baby or mother? Please advice...

Giving progesterone in the first trimester is good for the pregnancy .. it s not only given if there s an abnormality it s also given to prevent a miscarriage as a preventive measure . Rest assured it will not have any negative impact on the health of the baby . It will be more helpful if I can see the scan
Next Steps
Please continue till your NT scan is taken

Hello, Progesterone is fine. Rest assured it will not affect your baby.Yellow urine color is because of low water intake. Drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday.

If there no high risks or previous abortion and no pain abdomen then progesterone is not required, but it in not harmful. Yellow urine is due to poor water intake
