Usage of minoxidil 5%
I was recommended by a dermatologist to use minoxidil 5% serum for three months, for my hairfall. It has been more than 6 months, I was consistent for 3 months but then I didn't use it for a couple of months. Now I have continued it again. My hairfall has reduced and I've seen significant hair growth. Should I discontinue minoxidil? If so, how should I reduce it gradually? Is it okay if i continue to use it?

Its good to know that your condition improved with minoxidil. Generally you can reduce the frequency of application to alternate day for maintenance but you should revisit the dermatologist and get the dose adjusted.

If u were advised minoxidil for controlling hairfall (Telogen effluvium). Then I’ll advise to use it for a year and then it’s up to u if u want to continue or stop. There’s no harming continuing it, it’s safe . Avoid application if planning pregnancy or pregnant.
