Urispas & Alkasol duration
Hello Most Respected Physicians here, while being away from my home town, I developed UTI with burning sensation while passing urine. I consulted a physician at that place who prescribed me Urispas tablet, BD, and Alkasol syrup, 2TSP, TDS. And recommended me to drink plenty of water. Healing began from first day onward. However the third day, I had to be at a place where there was no access to clean drinking water or public convenience. Resultantly burning sensation resurfaced though not as intense as day one. Now five days are completed without full relief. Is it safe to continue urispas & Alkasol syrup for 7 more days to get full proper relief? Many many thanks and Warmest Regards 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Urispas and Alkasol can help with symptoms, but they don’t treat the underlying infection. Since burning is persisting after 5 days, it’s better to do a urine routine and culture and start proper treatment. Avoid continuing medicines for long without evaluation. You can connect with me I’ll guide you with the right tests and treatment.

"While Urispas (for bladder spasms) and Alkasol (to neutralize urine acidity) provide significant symptomatic relief, they do not treat the underlying bacterial infection. The fact that your burning sensation resurfaced as soon as your water intake decreased suggests that the bacteria are still present in your urinary tract. Relying only on these for another 7 days without an antibiotic may mask the infection and allow it to travel up to the kidneys
Next Steps
Aggressive Hydration: Now that you are back, aim for 3–4 liters of water daily. This is the best way to support any medical treatment for UTI. Consult for Antibiotics: Show your symptoms to a physician or you connect and consult with me to get a proper 5-day antibiotic course. This will ensure the infection is 'cured' rather than just 'suppressed.'

Urispas and Alkasol may help symptoms, but if burning persists after 5 days, urine routine/culture and proper evaluation are advisable to rule out ongoing infection or stones. Please continue good hydration and avoid holding urine.

Urispas is antispasmodic used to relieve bladder symptoms so it is ok to continue it for 7 more days as it is prescribed longer in some chronic conditions and as for alkasol syrup it is also used for symptomatic relief like that of your burning micturition and prevention of stones so it also ok to continue for 7 more days...if you get treated then it's fine otherwise you need to revisit again for more tests (like USG to rule out stones and other causes),may I know your history so it can better help to diagnose it as the diagnosis is the key to full recovery
