Thank you for your question. Some important points to consider are whether you are sexually active and whether your symptoms worsen after intercourse. How long have you had infections and how many such episodes have you had in the past 12 months and were the infections proven on culture and sensitivity? An acute infection is often the cause for frequent urination and pain or bleeding when passing urine. Other symptoms can be leaking urine if you don't get to the toilet on time. All these queries are assessed by your gynaecologist or a gynaecologist interested in urology - urogynaecology. If your bladder symptoms do not improve with treatment targeted to the diagnosed infection you may need further tests such as an ultrasound, uroflowmetry and cystoscopy too.  Sometimes stubborn infections need longer treatment durations. If infections are associated with sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia you will need treating for both. Please don't become alarmed by the details in this message. If your infection responds and you get good guidance on fluid intake and bladder control you will be fine. It is worth reading up on urinary symptoms on www.patient. co.uk Best wishes
