For the past 4 days, I have been experiencing discomfort in the urinary tract—mild pain, burning sensation, and irritation. Urine quantity is normal or slightly less, but the urge to urinate is more frequent than usual. Taking Alkacitron provides relief for a few hours, but symptoms return when I skip it. I gave my second morning urine sample for a culture test after taking Alkacitron—report shows "no growth." I have a past history of E. coli infection. I'm also on amitriptyline 10mg twice/day for IBS and anxiety disorder. Sexually not active.

Amitryptyline itself causes urine to retain in bladder and can cause UTI or sterile pyuria or chemical irritation of bladder , better to consult psychiatrist for dose correction and general physician for immediate symptomatic relief.
Health Tips
