Upper 1st molar Rct
I had gone a root canal treatment of first left molar 4 to 5 months ago,as it was paining after 5 sittings still the doc filled permanent filling,pain continued & doc removed the permanent filling after that temporary filling was put inside & i went to tour & since cannot visit the doc,suddenly the pain started again 10 days before & have consulted another doc who is redoing the rct again as he says that abcess is generated,but after taking medications & 2 sittings it was ok,but again pain has started today & it comes & goes ,can this tooth be saved ?

Hi...,this seems a case of chronic abcess.which generally takes time to subside,so keep patience.I think your doctor is trying his best to save that tooth. Wait for some more time. Extraction will be the last option... N if possible upload your radiograph of that tooth. Regards.

Hi ..Usually chronic cases take more sittings and you should have patience. Your doctor must be trying his best to control a chronic infected tooth. However sometimes even after trying they don't come under control. In such cases extraction is the best solution. However final decision has to be taken by your dentist. Regards

Hello.As per your explanation, we need to check the X Ray and confirm whether the tooth is having an abscess below or a cyst.Since Root Canal treatment is being repeated and still the pain is there, it means either some nerve tissue is left behind or else there is infection below which is not resolved.Once the X ray is scanned,a better opinion canbe given as far as the treatment is concerned. Yes the tooth can be saved. .. you have to keep patience. . don't count the sittings. .. rest if x-ray or something could have been posted. . could tell you better
