Unhappy Life and lack of interest
From the past few months, i have been noticing that i have lost interest in living a life. I am a 27 years old guy, i opted for a professional course in 2017, but couldn't be able to complete the education due to financial and responsibility burden. Now in this month i am going to be 28 years old, but not yet settled in life. Not having a proper degree other than bachelor degree. I have lost many interest in my life, i am not happy where i am and i continously blame myself for the problems which i have created. The problem i am facing is wholly because of  wrong decisions i have taken during my entire life and laziness. I always end up with wrong decisions and failed in life entirely and gets emotional for my own decision. I couldn't able to make myself happy and nor my parents and thats what i am feeling very weak and i think i have lost my life's balance and control. I want to try something new, but it's not happening. And i also not able to concentrate on studies again. Totally lost

Hi Thanks for reaching out. Based on what you have mentioned it seems like you feel you have not achieved enough. You are also not happy with the decisions you have taken. You want to figure out what you want to do with regard to career and life in general. I suggest that you gradually work on not reflecting too much on the past. You mentioned you want to try something new; you can make a note of your goals and passion. With a calm mind you can figure out what you want to do. If you want to try something new, do it. It is important for you to feel positive about yourself and fill your mind with positive thoughts. If you want to figure your life out and feel positive consult a psychologist for counselling sessions.
Next Steps
Consult a psychologist.
Health Tips

What my hunch is that you are feeling depressed and guilt. It is normal to have these emotions. Stop blaming your self for your failures and wrong decisions but accept that you are human who can fail and make wrong decisions . Because you are finding difficult to concentrate, it can be because of anxiety you are facing . Sometimes in life things happen which we strongly donot want and that  lead to different other losses but that is not end of world but unfortunate . Unconditionally Accept your self and life  for what u did but not blame .

Ruminating about the past is due to how our brains are wired. In such time it is difficult to "get over " The past and live in the present. BUT !!!!! There is always some way to get over your "negative thoughts ". Basically thinking about your past and getting obsessed over that becomes behavior. You need to break the behavior. 1. Focus when you are thinking about your past. During that time pay attention where the mind is? When you are obsessed over your past say to yourself " I am obsessed again "  And i am working on letting this stuff go 2 .  Whenever you feel like thinking about the past divert yourself, move your body around and focus on something else (like singing to interrupt ruminating on the past) 3.  Re frame your past life story . Think about the good  things which happened in your past.
Next Steps
You would need to consult a counseling psychologist.
Health Tips
1. Stop obsession over negative thoughts and start working towards resolution or way forward

I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way, but it's important to recognize that you don't have to face these challenges alone. It's understandable that you're feeling overwhelmed, but please consider talking to a mental health professional or a counselor about your feelings. They can provide you with the necessary support and guidance tailored to your specific situation. In the meantime, here are a few suggestions that might help you regain some sense of direction and purpose in your life: 1. Seek Support: Talk to Someone: Reach out to a close friend, family member, or a helpline to share your feelings. Sometimes, expressing your thoughts can provide relief. Professional Help: Consider talking to a therapist or counselor who can help you work through your feelings and develop coping strategies. 2. Set Realistic Goals: Break it Down: Set small, achievable goals for yourself. It could be as simple as going for a walk, reading a book, or learning a new skill online. Small achievements can boost your confidence. Focus on Your Health: Ensure you're getting regular exercise, a balanced diet, and enough sleep. Physical health can significantly impact mental well-being. 3. Explore Your Interests: Hobbies: Revisit old hobbies or explore new ones. Engaging in activities you enjoy can bring a sense of accomplishment and joy.
Next Steps
Remember, it's never too late to make positive changes in your life. With the right support and mindset, you can overcome these challenges and move toward a more fulfilling life. Reach out to the people around you and consider seeking professional help to guide you through this difficult time.

You concluded writing "totally lost". Have you really lost everything? Are the occasional failure, disappointment, lack of stability in life etc. good enough for you to conclude that your life is totally lost? Any sensible person would say in your situation that nothing much is lost and life is worth making more attempts. That, in a way, is perseverance. And all of us have it in us! From what you have explained as your situation, I do get a feeling that you need to improve your life-skills and the way you work to achieve your life's goals. A psychologist can help and guide you in them and also in organising your life. So, I would suggest you consult a psychologist, have a few counselling sessions, gain better awareness on organising life and move on in the natural way life moves, with your own shares of happiness and difficulties. With the help of the psychologist, you will be able to set new goals in life and work towards achieving them.
