I'm really sorry to hear that you're experiencing these feelings. When you feel like you can't breathe properly or there's an emptiness in your chest, it might help to practice deep, slow breathing to calm your nervous system.
Identifying specific triggers and understanding why they affect you can also be useful. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques can help you challenge and restructure negative thoughts, reducing overthinking and we can work upon it together. Mindfulness exercises can keep you grounded in the present moment. Seeking support from friends, family, or a mental health professional can also provide comfort and perspective.
You don’t have to go through this alone, and together we can find strategies to help you feel more in control and at peace.
Next Steps
The next step is to start therapy as soon as possible. Therapy session with a psychologist can help you explore techniques to manage your feelings and build healthier thinking patterns. Alongside therapy, prioritize self-care by engaging in activities that make you feel good and cared for, or simply taking time to relax and unwind. Building a support network by reaching out to friends or family can also provide comfort and perspective. Taking these steps can help you regain control and work towards a more peaceful state of mind.
Managing anxiety involves several effective strategies. Practice mindfulness and deep breathing exercises to stay grounded in the present moment. Things that work for people feeling similar anxiety symptoms include practising deep breathing. Taking deep slow breaths can help calm the mind and body when you feel anxious. Also maybe try to challenge the negative thoughts; when you catch yourself thinking negatively about yourself, try to challenge those thoughts and replace them with positive ones. Remind yourself of your strengths and achievements. And most importantly; talk to Someone. Share your feelings with a trusted friend or family member. Sometimes just talking about what you're going through can provide relief.
Hi,
It sounds like you are experiencing significant anxiety and distress, especially when faced with situations that remind you of these deeper feelings of inadequacy and overthinking. The sensation of not being able to breathe properly and feeling a void in your chest can often be physical manifestations of emotional turmoil, heightening your sense of overwhelm. This cycle of negative self-beliefs and triggers can lead to a pattern where even minor challenges feel insurmountable, exacerbating your feelings of being unsuccessful or insignificant. It may be helpful to explore coping strategies, such as mindfulness or talking to a mental health professional, to address these feelings and work on reframing your thoughts. Remember, you deserve support and the chance to find peace amidst the trigger points.
