Trace Albumin in Urine Routine Test
My father( 58) has been suffering from fever, cough and cold for a few days. He is on antibiotics. He did a urine routine test which shows Bacteria, Increased Pus cells and Trace Albumin. I am scared because of the trace albumin. Last year he did a full body checkup including KFT, EFGR and Albumin Creatinine Ratio and USG. Everything came normal and perfect except he has Prostetomegaly Grade 1. Did PSA which came back fine. What should we do now? Why is trace albumin in his Urine? Is it because of his UTI? He has no diabetes and very mild bp.

Please get his sonography evaluation of prostate done. He should also have his KFT and urine culture test. Consult with a General Surgeon in your area for an opinion regarding the need for prostate surgery.

Trace albumin could be normal or abnormal depending on the condition of the patient. We need to discuss your father’s history in detail in order to know what is causing it.
