Toothpaste for brown superficial stains
Can you please suggest any toothpaste to use to remove superficial brown stains caused due to many medications such as iron? This is for a pregnant lady, around 16 weeks

In pregnancy, iron supplements can leave tooth stains best managed with gentle, fluoride toothpastes rather than harsh whiteners. Fluoride is safe and protects enamel, while mild abrasives help reduce stains. Avoid peroxide-based whitening or highly abrasive charcoal pastes until after delivery. Safer options include Sensodyne Whitening (gentle, for sensitivity), Himalaya Sparkling White (herbal), and Colgate Visible White (surface stain removal). Nano-hydroxyapatite pastes (like Enafix) also aid enamel repair. Brush twice daily with a soft brush, using only a pea-sized amount, and alternate with a regular fluoride paste if sensitivity occurs.
Next Steps
For more stubborn discoloration, a professional dental cleaning is the most effective and safe solution during pregnancy—always consult your dentist before starting whitening care.

Stains are stubborn deposits that won't go away by gentle brushing combined with any toothpaste. You need a professional cleaning at dental clinic.
