Tooth resorption
Hi All, I am 34 M,when I was 8 years old my front tooth chipped off. I did not go to doctor at that time. 6 years back in 2018 I did my crown for the chipped off tooth for aesthetics. Following is timeline for important events 2010-general braces 2018-fixed cap 2019-xray attached 2022-doctor mentioned internal tooth resorption and wrote some pain killers when I went for tooth pain. If pain persisted then doc said we should go for minor surgery  else surgery is not required. 2023 used medication without consulting doctor 2024 (2 days back) severe pain in root of the tooth and again taken pain killers. My question is when I take pain killers I am ok. Should I go with surgery? I have cap so should we break it to have surgery? It's my front tooth and it's very important. I have undergone wisdom tooth removal just few days back. Is this related to my front tooth pain. I don't have latest xray and does old xray has any symptoms of resorption? in my case what might be reason for resorption?

Wisdom tooth extraction got nothing to do with your upper front teeth pain ..Internal resorption is seen in this xray but wouldn't cause much discomfort usually so get a new xray look for any re infection in that case go for a re RCT or root end surgery as implied by the doctor examined . In case of re rct ofcourse they gonna drill through your cap and if it's root end surgery  it's only on root end so cap won't be drilled through . Can't say the exact treatment because of lack of a recent xray .
Next Steps
even children knows the fact that self medication is bad ..so don't just consume medicines according to your wish
Health Tips
Do not self medicate ,get an xray done , the wisdom tooth removal got no relation with your current pain .

1) Reason of resorption is - in your childhood or long back you must have fallen or injured your front tooth for that you must have not visited the dentist immediately which eventually led to resorption ,even thou you had your RCT & cap in 2018 . 2) don’t take medications always as it might affect your health 3) go for surgery & visit a dental surgeon of MDS in oral & maxillofacial surgery ( OMFS ) for this . 4) it is not necessary that we need to take out the cap for it . 5) wisdom tooth removal is not related to your front tooth pain .

Hi, I suggest you meet the dentist again and get an x-ray IOPA/RVG and share. The x-ray shared, I assume is from 2022. You need to take another x-ray to know the current status of the tooth. Mild resorption is seen, but you will not have this kind of pain.
