Tooth gap - After 4 years of Braces
I got some gap in between tooth after 4 years of braces treatment...Can i prevent further gap by using permanent retainer now(back of the teeth) ...will it work...please suggest

Nope u should have worn the retainers regularly all these years ... now it is not possible only with fixed retainers. Need to see the case severity for assessing whether u have wear braces over again

Hie .. 4 years of period is a long time ... Now if we give you any active retainer then also the gap won’t be lessen.... relapse usually occurs either due to tongue forces or dint use the retainer continuously for the given period of time by the patient after completion of treatment... If you plan for permanent retainer now, it will only stabilise the current scenario of your teeth from further relapsing.. either you have to again go for some months of ortho treatment again...if not, then crowning of the teeth and closing the diastema created

Hello there. It would have helped a lot more if you could attach photos of your teeth which have started gaining gaps after 4 years of braces treatment. Since we do not know how much the gap is, if it is minor generalised gap, we can still manage with active retainers. But if the gap is in specific location, and larger gaps, you might require a re-treatment with braces, followed by fixed retainers.
