Tooth extraction of child
My daughter is 7 years old. She has two teeth which are with cavaties. doctor has asked for extraction of one and root canal for another one which is a milk teeth n will require cap also for the same. It will however be protecting the teeth till it uproots in few year as it is a milk tooth. Please advice if it is fine to go for extraction for the one doctor suggested for so small child and also is it worthwhile to go for root canal n capping for another one

If teeth having cavities are molars then there is definite need of treatment as these are going to stay in mouth for 4-5 years and a cap is also must. If a tooth can not be saved extraction can be done. Age is not a contraindication at this stage. Visit a pedodontist for better opinion.

Hello mam, root canal is certainly recommended for milk tooth..The tooth here in question appears to be a milk tooth molar...now this tooth stays till 9.5-10yrs of age and will be replaced by a premolar. Thus saving it will be imp. Extraction: If the tooth is to be extracted is also a molar, do check with the pedodontist for space maintenance of the same area.
