Tooth Bonding after brace
Hello Madam/Sir, I had my braces for more than 3 years.. just 2 months  back the doctor took the braces out and gave me retainers and told me that I need to put this for an year. I am a working girl and facing a lot of difficulty in coping with these retainers my mouth has become sore after wearing the retainers.. My doctor suggested to get tooth bonding... I wanted to know for how long do I have to have this bonding?? Or is it a permanent thing?? Please help Thanks , Rajalakshmi

Hi Rajalakshmi, it is mandatory to put retainers after orthodontic treatment because teeth have a tendency to go back to your original position. Retainers reinforce the treatment. You can ask your dentist to give you a permanent retainer, it is comfortable and of course you don't have to remove it. As far as bonding is concerned, will have to see your photograph or see you clinically. Bonding is recommended to change shape of your teeth. Colour can be changed by bleaching. I am not sure why bonding is suggested. Visit www.merakidentalstudio.com For more info.
