Tooth ache with fever and swelling
Hi i am on a trek right now , but have developed severe tooth ache on my root canal treated tooth. RCT was done 2 years back. Now i dont have a dentist as i am in remote location. i do have amoxycillin and nemuslide pain killers. Kindly suggest should i turn back or continue with meds.

Hi, you can continue on the trek. Take amoxicillin and nimeside tab twice / day for 5 days and use lukewarm water + salt gargles as often as you can. If possible try to avoid biting hard substances from that side as well as any pressure on that side. Do not sleep on that side at night as pressure can cause swelling.

Hi,you may continue with the medicines you have.Warm salt rinses 4 to 5 times daily shall help.Avoid brushing or eating something hard from affected and painful side.

Depends on how long your trek is and how much pain you have. If there is swelling and it does not respond to amoxicillin after a day or two then it indicates the abscess is not responding and you may need to come back. If swelling and fever disappear after a day oyso of amoxicillin treatment then you can continue maybe
