Hello  Sir, Welcome to PRACTO This is your Dentist - I went through your query and attached image. The tooth looked to be carious for quite a long period of time . The colour of the tooth is also darker.  I suspect there must be Periapical Infection below the tooth root. Its better to get the tooth Extracted . Root Canal might not be succesful. If you have any Xray Post it to me and I will.let you know for sure.  But for now Extraction will be best . Good Day Thanks Alot.

There is a deep cavity in that tooth and you just have to get a Root canal done and later place a crown (cap) on it. Kindly get it done as soon as possible as it's an important tooth when it comes to chewing and biting food, and trust me you don't want to lose it.
Next Steps
Visit an endodontist (Root canal specialist) as soon as possible.
Health Tips
Try and avoid any hot and hard food till you get treatment started.

Your tooth is decayed and has reached the nerve hence it will definitely require a Root canal treatment, medication can help to settle the pain for a while, but permanent solution is Root canal treatment only, followed by crown on the tooth. Hope this helps.
