Tongue sore not healing from one month
My mother is having this single bump (as attached in the photo) on tongue for more than a month it's size decreased but it is not healing completely. While tongue cleaning it is bleeding otherwise not . It has no significant pain also she is able to eat and talk easily..no other symptoms... no history of alcohol , smoking or any tobacco consumption. Is it cancer since it is not healing from one month?

A persistent sore on the tongue that doesn't heal completely for more than a month should be evaluated by a healthcare professional, preferably a dentist or oral surgeon. There can be various causes for such a sore, and while cancer is one possibility, it is important not to jump to conclusions without a proper examination. Other potential causes of persistent tongue sores include: Trauma or injury: Tongue biting or irritation from sharp or rough teeth or dental restorations can lead to persistent sores. Infections: Fungal, viral, or bacterial infections can cause tongue sores that may take time to heal. Oral ulcers: Aphthous ulcers, also known as canker sores, can develop on the tongue and may take several weeks to heal. Oral lichen planus: This is a chronic inflammatory condition that can affect the tongue and other areas of the mouth. It is crucial for your mother to see a healthcare professional for a proper evaluation, which may include a physical examination and, if necessary, a biopsy of the sore. This will help determine the exact cause and appropriate treatment.
