So whenever I see instagram I feel super bad about myself and it feels like everyone is super cool and I am a pushover I deleted insta a long time ago but sometimes I just redownload it and from that I just feel horrible useless

Hi, doom scrolling, looking at someone else’s life and imagining my life is useless and not having purpose is a real thing any social media shows only what is good and aesthetic, that’s is the social media’s teachnique to make you lethargic. What you can do instead us, spend more time in reality, meeting friends, going out, spending quality time with parents and family, if you’re distant from family, it’s ok, there is first time for everything. You feeling useless can be because of many hinge, one among it can be, I wish my life was like that, I wish i had these many followers, I wish this and I wish that, just remember it’s all virtual, not real. If Internet does not work, these social media influencers have nothing else to do.

Hi Posts on Instagram are curated and filtered. Nobody knows what the person is actually going through. They show “appreciated emotions” which makes them feel good about themselves. Their “looking to feel good about themselves” is temporary happiness and is unreal. As a psychologist when I see my clients’s profile, I feel confused about their happy posts, yet in real it’s a different story. We don’t need a content/ stimuli to feel happy.. happiness comes from within, when we feel happy and proud of ourselves, we do not need appreciation from people.
