The splint has to be removed while eating food. TMJ problems take time to resolve. You have to be patient and do whatever your dentist advises. Depending on the complexity, several modes of treatment are available. We usually start with the most conservative one, which is the splint or night guard tray.
Next Steps
If you have any habits like teeth clenching or grinding, you need to work on it.

Hi..the only way to solve it is by orthodontic treatment. Many dentists just experiment by splint, physiotherapy, appliances. But it won't help. Get orthodontic correction done.

There are various modalities for tmj problems but unfortunately as of now none of these modalities gives a hundred percent success rate. You have been given the appropriate and conservative modality of night Guards which have to be worn for a long duration but you can definitely remove them while eating because it is not possible to chew the food properly with the appliance in position. Also it takes approximately 3 to 4 months for these appliances to cause sufficient muscle training so that the tmj discomfort is relieved appropriately. You need to have patience as your problem is not something that can be rectified overnight.
Regards.
