Thyroid inflammation with severe earpain
I am suffering from high thyroid inflammation and severe ear pain for more than one month. I am taking propanolol tablets but the pain is not reducing. I took TSH, T3, T4 and thyroid antibodies test. All test reports were normal but 8mm lump was found on left side of thyroid in ultrasound. Please tell me if this can lead to hearing loss. I am taking the medicine for more than 3 weeks but there is no improvement.

Do you have pain/tenderness in the front of your neck? Do you have fever? The 8mm thyroid lesion is not responsible for the hearing loss, but please meet an ENT specialist to rule out an ear infection/eustachian tube blockage. If there is neck pain it may be due to subacute or acute thyroiditis. Subacute thyroiditis is self resolving but some times takes many weeks to resolve. You may require steroids/NSAIDS

Cause of pain is less likely due to thyroid as in thyroiditis which is common cause of thyroid related pain, usually in initial phase derangement of hormone levels occurs..Also ear pain is not the symptom in thyroid
Consult ENT specialist!!
