Thumb Pain
Hi My wife has thumb pain. He can not move down her thumb. She has to type lot in her office. Is it because of that ? It is persisting from last 1 year. If mistakenly if i hit her on thumb then she gets lots of pain and which is not bearable.

Avoid computer work. Tk physiotherapy treatment and stretching of thumb.

Hello... Based on history of looks like dequervains tenosynovitis which is most common on this age group females..
Next Steps
antiinflamatory medication hot fomentation physiotherapy in form of ultrasound if not relived by these measures she may require local steroid injection and later surgical release

From the history and symptoms you have reported it looks like your wife is suffering from Tenosynovitis. Before making a definitive diagnosis needs to be examined by an Orthopaedician. If the condition is tenosynovitis, it can be managed conservatively .

It looks like she has tendinitis and may need proper evaluation. She must use a thumbs brace along with restriction of activities that put stress on thumb Usually takes 4-6 weeks to recover.
