Thalassemia Trait.
Hi, After blood test she got to know Thalassemia Trait, her Hb is 9.7 now, before it was less, after having iron supplement(10days) she might have increased Hb as before it was 8.8, 9.1. please see the attached reports and pls advice if she can get pregnant as she wants to get pregnant and 7 months back she got miscar

Thank you for your question. Thallassemia needs special care under the guidance of a hematologist. If you wish to get pregnant you need to see an obstetrician who has access to a hematologist or can work in close collaboration with one specially in an institute. They may suggest additional tests before recommending you to get pregnant again. Sometimes it is worth requesting genetic counseling for husband and wife to rule out the possibility of your children being affected and their management. Best wishes
