Tetanus vaccine and kidney transplant
I am a Kidney transplant patient and on Immunosuppressive medications. The operation took place in November 2018. Today I got a small cut from a cycle pedal (not made of metal) onn one of my fingers. There was slight bleeding. The wound was properly sterilised and bandaged. Last Tetanus injection I took was in June 2017 . My transplant doctor is saying if the tetanus shot was within 5 years there is no need to take but my local physician is saying tetanus injection is effective for only one month. What should I do now ?

Hello I have just answered your query. The TT is taken once in 5 yrs. but you been on immunosuppressant it’s advisable to take TT again and take care of the wound. Discuss with youe Nephrologist before taking TT injection
