How long does Tetanus Toxoid boosters last here in Kolkata?
I'm very confused. Mostly people say the boosters last for a year or so, Internet tells me it lasts for 5-10 years while the last time I got it the Pharmacist told me it lasts for ONLY 1 month nowadays.
Now I'm prone to getting cuts and got one yesterday too while shaving, I took the last shot like a month ago do I need to take another? or am I safe?
Bonus question: Does taking repeated shots of these boosters reduce the immunity against tetanus? or is it fine?

Response:
The duration of tetanus toxoid (TT) booster protection depends on your vaccination history. If you have received a full primary series (3 doses) and booster doses every 10 years, then you are well-protected. Generally:
A booster dose provides protection for at least 5-10 years, not just one month as the pharmacist mentioned.
If you had a TT shot one month ago, you do not need another one for this minor cut.
Repeated shots do not reduce immunity but are unnecessary if you are already protected.
Since you are prone to frequent cuts, I recommend discussing a proper immunization schedule with a doctor. You can reach out to me on WhatsApp at eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two for further guidance.
